In 02 I bought a 98 896. It had been a tourney boat and has the decal "State Team" both sides on the bow. Everyone keeps asking what that stands for, and I have no idea.

It means that the person you bought it from was on the state team for B.A.S.S. federation and had a special deal when getting the boat. They come from the factory rigged the way the person orders them and with the "state team" logos on it. Another way to advertise. Don't be surprised if people think you are state team.

LOL not if they've looked in my livewell lately. Thanks. The Boat is loaded with everything.

The State Team designation is the first step in the Tracker/Nitro Pro Staff hierarchy. Sate Team, National Team and ultimately Pro Team. As an example, Mac and I are on the State Team in Michigan, Pierre is on the State Team in Canada (I always wondered about that, but I guess the Province Team doesnt sound as cool..lol); Jordan Paulo, Edwin Evers, Joe Crosby etc. are National Team members and Clunn, VanDam, Woo, Penny, etc. are National Pro Team members. Each level of "sponsorship" has its own requirements for time and minimum tournament participation and certainly for the compensation of promotion.

The State Team deal is through a local Dealer. You can ask your local dealer if he participates or has any current State Team openings if you are serious about getting into the promotional side of this game. There are minimum requirements to fish tournaments, and to work boat and fishing shows in exchange for special pricing on the boat/motor/trailer package. It is alot of work and time committments, but Mac and I always have a great time doing it.

Contact your local dealer for more information.

Mini

Mini,..Joe Crosby is with Ranger now,...on the Crown Royal Team!!..I ran into him at the 'Classic last year...he remembered me too,..I was fired up!!..ahaha...He was really glad and proud to join Crown Royal....all his efforts and hard work paid off BIG!! He sure was fun to hang with at our store when he came to town...I liked Joe! Just an FYI. I forgot to tell you that!! Sorry!!

Mini's exactly right though Charlie,...check with your local dealer and see if he/she has any openings on their "Team"....you might be pleasantly surprised!

Good luck,

Mac

Charlie....

Can't really add anything to that explanation. We usually have some decals on the boat and truck. The original owner probably just left them on there. I guess the only real advantage to leaving them there is having a few more boats follow you to your spots. ;)

p.s. I have the same problem with the livewells, I better get them checked.

Pierre

Thanks for the info guys. Glad I found this place.

Pierre I can't understand the prob with my live well. I found the switch to fill it with water, but haven't found the one that fills it with fish.
