You all remember SgtThump? He has his 1994 Nitro 2000 (20-foot) for sale so I went to take a look at it and give it a test drive this morning.....
WOW! This boat is going to make someone out there very happy!
Cosmetically: It has one small, superficial ding on the left front side about 2 inches long where he ran into a dock. Also on the left side, there are some rub marks in about a 2 square foot area from tying up to another boat. Other than that, the boat is darn near pristine! Gelcoat (midnight blue/silver) shines. Carpeting and seats have no flaws that caught my eye. Although I didn't go over it for fine gel coat cracks, none caught my eye. Trailer is basically without rust and the paint is in excellent shape as well.
The carbureted 200 hp Merc fired easily and ran as smoothly as you could ever ask. The Hi-Five prop kicked the rear end out of the water before I could even think "One Mississippi....." WOT was in the low- to mid-60's; I didn't play with it enough to find out exactly where top end was. It would have cruised effortlessly all day long in the mid-50's. All electricals that I tried worked. Ride was stable. It turned and tracked well.
At the price he is asking, this is one very good buy! Unfortunately, I had to admit to myself that now is just not quite the right time for me.....
BUY THIS BOAT SIGHT UNSEEN! You will not be disappointed!
