I mounted my HB SI ducer on the right bottom of the jackplate. Transducer saver makes a protective mount for it that protects and guards against anything that might strike it. I did not have to drill any holes in hull which is a real plus. It will not work when on plane but that is not a problem for me as I have a second transducer epoxy in the hull with "Y" cable to the HB for 2D sonar while running. The mount is specific and custom for the ducer type and jack plate. Works great never had a problem with it.
