Only 20* this a.m. and calling for lows of 7* to 10* the next few days, and I see a couple guys heading to the river with flatbottom duck boats. To keep using your boat, should you change the lower unit lube, and just make sure the water is drained well after you pull out,is that enough? I am sure it is going to warm back up in a week or so and would like to keep fishing( got a 6 lber saturday, hehe). I usuall y fully winterize by now,but with this weather pattern and the day tremps back in the mid 50s i will keep fishing, until the lakes are hard.

Make sure any water in bilge pump or livewell pumps is out. I ruined a set one year because I forgot to check. The other thing is pull the bottom drain plug on your lower unit just enough to let a little bit of grease flow out. If it's white then replace it plus put new seals on.

If it's normal color just screw it back in and fish away no water is getting in.:)
