Is the Shimano Curado Bantam a good reel? I have been using the Ambassadors and was thinking of switching. Would anyone be interested in a couple of 5500 Ambassadors? I also have Garcia rods with them.

Best reel for the money. I have 8 curados, 1 Scorpion, 1 Castaic and 1 Calcutta. Out of all the Shimano's I prefer the Curado for most applications. The reels are super smooth and are real durable. Can't go wrong with a Curado.

4 Curado 101's here! I also have 3 Abu's. For repeated casting of artificials, the Curado's are the way to go!

I own 4 - one has the whiffle spool. Killer distance on casting w/ it.

I guess I am strange!!! Got two 100 b's and would do anything to have the old Abu Black Max low profiles!!

I have tried every where to get some they are discontinued!!! Argh!!

Mark in CAlif.

I agree with the Black Max. I must have half a dozen or more Black Max's and a load of new and used parts. Now they are all collecting dust because I retired them but they are too nice to pitch out.

As far a shimano, ther are all great.

Hey Bubby, I don't have any Shimano's but my brother does and swears by them. So does almost everyone else I know. Of course when I bought a new baitcaster I didn't listen and bought a Johnny Morris:)

I have an older Black max I'll trade for a curado! I have 4 a curado's and 4 Stradic's. I like them alot.
