Well, after much debate and the fact that Gordy wouldn't sell me his vette, I pulled the trigger on a ride for me here in Florida. 3 times I walked away from this car and it still ended up in my driveway:p I was all set to buy a 2006 vette with 12,000 miles, 6 speed, convertible, power top, triple black, actually, it had every option available on an 06 plus some performance parts. I was gonna drop 33k on it. I figured what the hell, I deserve it. Then a lady that is in our office here in JAX had this car and we bickered back and forth for 4 months and she couldn't make up her mind whether or not to sell it (she really likes the car) but the last straw was she got a job with the FDIC back in California (where she is from)and didn't want to take the car back. She called me as I was setting up a meeting to go see the 06 vette. Let's just say she made it worth the wait!! This car is a driver and I wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere. It would be an appearance problem if I showed up at a bank closing in a vette, besides the fact I would be trackable (where I was staying, etc.) and there's no telling what a disgruntled bank employee, president or officer could/would do to it. Just not worth the risk. I gotta say this little ride is is put together very well and the hardtop convertible is pretty nifty. And before any of you smart a$$es ask, YES I FIT IN IT!!

Here she is, a 2002 (yes, 2002) LEXUS SC430, V8 (governed at 150mph), saddle leather, all the bells and whistles (NAV, CD, Mark Levinson sound system with 7 speakers an amp and sub) brand new rubber, and just plain a fun car to drive.

Sorry Mac, there's a vette in my future but for now this is the new TOXIC Mobile...until the wife sees it I'm sure:lol::lol:

TOXIC

sorry about the pic size...I thought they were smaller.

"YES I FIT IN IT!!? I am sure you do... but I am also sure if you do you have to ride in it alone... A 2 Bucket Butt just won't fill only a one Bucket Seat... :p:lol:

See you in a few days... I have a plan....

Its a CHICK car, no manual and a coffee cup already in it!! Dude you are getting SOFT!!!

Nice ride, enjoy!!!

Looks like a lot of fun. If I knew you better, I would laugh really hard at Trepman's comment.

deffinitely a chick car...and don't drive it to MI,...with all the disgruntled/unemployed peeps around here,..it WILL get after market "appearance problems" installed on it!!

now,....explain to me how rolling up to a bank closing in a Lexus is better than rolling up in a 'vette!!!...I gotta hear this!!!..LOL

CHICK CAR?:lol: Kinda like a station wagon with a Hemi right Trep? A lot of rich ladies do drive these b...u....t....they really don't "drive" them. If you look at the performance numbers, this rig is right there with the Porshe's and Mercedes. A whole lotta performance there in a very conservative shell. I'm not gonna go ricer with it but there are some pretty sweet body kits out there. And yes, a newer vette will eat this rig for lunch but I bought it to be a daily driver. A vette, Mac Daddy, is "in your face" styling and as I said, the SC430 is a bunch more conservative. Nothing says "mid life crisis" more than a vette convertible.  Besides, I got it for 1/2 the price I would have had to pay for a straight vette. Don't worry, It'll never go to Michigan....you need a humvee on those roads you have up there anyway. And remember, I have 2 bowties (BOTH bought brand new) and a jeep (pre-Dalmer also bought brand new) so don't go all "buy American" on me, I do spread the love around!!;) This car has never seen a winter or been in temps below 32degrees!! And I'd wager a bet that the wife will have it before it's all over and then it will be brand spankin showroom floor new Corvette time for me....with no argument from the CFO.

Meyer, I'll deal with you when I see you!!:lol::lol:

TOXIC

OK, before I read the story and saw that a LADY from your office sold it, I was thinking this was a CHICK car too! You loose the boys down there Hammer????

Nice car though...get good gas mileage ;-)

Nice ride Scott, Good luck with it!!!! Im sure it will save you some GASOLINA.....

Mark

Nice ride, Hammer. Did it come with one of those sunflowers springing up from the dash?

It started out on the dash,......by the time he got home...it was sticking out of his,..(fill in the blank!!)

I guess I've got to put some Gamakatsu and SPRO decals on it:lol::lol: Yeah, it might be a chick car but the chicks like it.....not that it does me any good. You puddin heads are brutal:lol::lol::lol: Let the piling on continue.... BTW 19 city and 24 highway Premium Unleaded. Compared to the truck with 12 city and 12 highway:p

TOXIC

Dayum,...with that kinda savings you'll be able to buy new flowers every week!!

Its still a Toyota, best part is that Toyota got paid for it already.

Bring it up here...please :) I know of a fair that has a sledge hammer, 3 swings for a buck!

A rose... Nice Mac!!! I bet he can get the interior swapped out for some plaid!:D

ok, I am tired, jet lagged and frikin hot from today (108 in the shade) I just laughed so hard I cried HAHAHAHAH

Hammer - Bring that thing up here, we'll hit the drag strip Fri night, my Station Wagon will beat your Convertible 0-60 and the 1/4 mile!! and I can tow my boat with it!!! BWWWAAA!!!

Just returning the love my brothafromanothamutha!!!

Man, I'd love to see that match up!! I hate to say it Michael, but given the power to weight ratio, I'd have to lay money on the Lexus, and I'm not an import fan. That little thing on a short track should scoot!!

Maybe I'll get a high 5 from Gary Yamamoto the next time I am in Page, AZ:lol: Or Shintu at Gamakatsu:lol: Nah, Dano let em think that the little toy is a dog.... It is why the ricers turn such low et's, weight vs hp.

1/4 mile (E.T.) 14.4 sec

As you can see it is more at home on the road course than the straight track with automatic stability control (automatically adjusts shock travel and stiffness) but it is

no slouch in the 1/4 either. Makes good torque at low RPM's which is a plus. Make no mistake a vette was my first choice but this car is no slouch. Besides, I'm not going to add performance stuff, I'm just gonna drive and enjoy it. As soon as I get my flower for the dash and wear my pink Polo shirt, I'll be the envy of the Hush Puppy crowd.

TOXIC

Dan and Tox - It would be WAY close 1/4 mile, depending on how we launch, tires, traction control.... Depending on which sites you view, the Magnum does 0-60 between 5.6-5.8 seconds, and the 1/4 mile 14.2 - 14.4. So while the Magnum is a little heavier it has 340hp and 390lb-ft!

I surprise a LOT of cars on the On Ramp merge and toll booths!!!

Now road course i'll conseed to the Lexus, the Magnum is not built for corning, though it drifts great letting that rear end hang out!!

"I love chick fights!! "

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

58k (in 2002) for a Toyota? And they say Skeeters are over priced! LOL
