rob, about 8 or 10 members of our club will be staying at marine village cottages. we are thinking of having our get-away there next year so we thought we would check it out. it seems like a nice place to stay. never been on that part of the lake. the rest of have not been either. i tried drop-shotting on our local smallmouth lake. i like it. it looks like that part of the lake would be a good place to keep a drop-shot handy. main reason for posting is,are these cottages as good as they sound? thanks stan

Hey Stan, Marine Village Cottages is a really nice place to stay. Tom Mac and I stayed there a couple of times and liked it very much. We stayed in a three bedroom cottage right on the lakefront. The bedrooms were good size with a big living/dining room and a small kitchen. Clean and well kept. The only downside is there are no dock facilities for you boats. You have to trailer every day to the ramp, but it's less than a quarter mile away (just down the street).

There are some nice reefs in that area that you can drop shot or c'rig on. If you have a map of the area it will show them or Rob can tell you where they are. Just across the lake and a little to the north is a causeway that we have done well at drop shotting. About 20 feet of water, sometimes with a current running through it. Do well with Yamamoto Tiny Ikas in watermelon and pumpkin flavors. You can drop shot anywhere you find smallies, we've drop shotted them in 8 feet of water and done well.

Hope the info helps. When will you be up there?

They are nice cottages. Tom and Jim stay there, Mickey and Pat stayed there in the FLW. Nice places, and right on the water. Jim's right about the reefs, great for drop shotting. Also, when you leave the cottage go out and right, head south downt the NY side of the lake for about 2-3 miles and you'll come to Long Point at the outer edge of Treadwell bay. That whole point extends under the water for a 1/2 mile. You can drop shot or jerkbait the edges of it, all the way out. Give me a shout when you get up here. Buzz and I are planning a weekend on the water about that time. Bring chartreuse spinnerbaits too.

Hey Stan, you will only be 5 minutes from my house, if you want to BBQ or sumpin! We can compare boats, and tell manly stories, and in the morning I'm cookin waffles...oops anyone seen Shrek? My kid has played it so much, I hear that stupid donkey/Eddie Murphy in my sleep. Parfait might just be the most deicious thing on the whole damn planet! Onions have layers! Heeeelllp! What's next? Barney? Noooooooooo!!!!!!

we will be a good sized group. when i find the dates i will post for directions. might stop by to touch base on what our gruop is up to. i will either have my boat or be in my friends skeeter. thanks stan
