Rich...

The activity on one post about organizing an impromptu group trip to Northern Michigan got me to thinking about asking for a "sticky post" (one that stays at the top or some other mechanism like a another board) that would be for "need a partner...going fishing "here" wanna join me... trade a trip, etc.) We've all sort of become friends and bet we'd like to fish together as often as possible...This could let us do that... Just a thought and food for thought I hope

I just had a "bright idea" of using the Events Board to start a thread for a trip... see how it works...

Sounds like a great idea. For the most part there is a lack of actual fishing info or shared fishing info here. For as much interest all have in bass, walleye, pike etc. it doesn't get brought up with any regularity. The actual shared info is very thin.

I know it may sound or be taken as I am trying to sturr a pot with the way I'm saying it, but please don't take it that way. This is a great site. I don't think it can be beat for boat related problems, modifications or projects to be undertaken.

I visit this site alot because I know it is good and put togather very professionally. A section as aboved mentioned my bring out more fish and fishing related conversation.

Please don't take what I'm saying as a negative. If I'm wrong let me know. I am by no means am trying to change anything that the majority do not want to see here. Daily I try to bring up the Nitro/Tracker board to look for those related topics of techniques, lure selections, recent outings, and fishing success. Best of luck in the upcoming season.

Not taking your post as being negative, but this is a boat site. Yes it has to do with fishing and believe me ALOT of info has been shared here.

If you have a question ask it. The better detail in the question the better the response will be. I guess what I am typing is dont ask "where they bitin?" cause you wont get any response.

If you had a great day on the lake, report it. If you want a partner, ask for one...lol. See where I am going with this?

I have been in/on bulletin boards for a long time and actually moderate a fishing report board else where. The biggest problem with most boards is lack of contribution. If people just come to look and not contribute, eventually there will be nothing to look at.

We are lucky to have such a well run site (Thanx again Rich Stern!) and some really great people involved here (all except Mac and Neeley....lol, oh and watch yourself around Rob....:)).

I know that I've not been very good about posting fishing reports... So, I should not say anything about it at all... But, there is a shared "Fishing Reports" section on the board... So, a lot of fishing info is posted there and not on the Nitro/Tracker Board (where we extoll the superiority of tin boats to the denigration of our less fortunate and less wise , but beloved, glass a$$es) LOL

A proposed date is "up"... June 14 & 15, 2003.

Uh Greg, June 14-15 WHERE??? My wedding anniverary is June 16th so I need to make it back!

this is the first board i've messed with on the pc and i've had a lot of fun and gotten a lot of great info from this site (yeh greg i admit it, i'm a "brainsucker"). i see a lot of people helping each other out with all aspects of boating and fishing and a huge amount of info is shared. i'm sure with time it will evolve somewhat regarding the topics posted as more members become active. i think it would be great if we utilized the chat room more as the couple of times i've been in there, it was a lot of fun. i've met a good friend thru this site (soonerfan) and hope to meet a lot more of the members. i'm not sure what "fishing info that is thin" is meant, but i would think as the season progresses, a lot more "fishing" posts will be made. i've thought a section on lures, types, presentations, strategies etc would be great also because i'm new to the sport. put up a post if you have questions or would just like to discuss a topic (especially this time of year) and i'm sure someone would have some good input. i just joined bassmasters and they have a message board that i cannot even find out how to see the entire thread like this site does (are people supposed to email their responses back in forth in "secret" or what?). maybe another idea would be for some of the pros or have a guest host a specific topic in the chat room sometime. thanks for this site rich and to all those who contribute.

superiority of tin boats???

James D..

Yes... "Tin boats ARE superior...glad you SEE that...LOL

(That is one of the "back and forths" here that never ends....)

Now, welcome, on behalf of all of us..

Trep,

We are using the "Events Board" to organize trips and meets on an informal basis... This one in the area around Traverse City, MI on June 14 & 15... But go to the Events Board to see and help refine the idea. We are trying to get more "functionality" used and enjoyed.

Guys, thanks for the input to the small hornets nest I may have stirred up in my post.

Mini, You are 100% corrent about the quality of this site. I can see where you are coming from and will post some tactical fishing post here and see how they go.

James D., Thanks for the response. I feel the same way. What I ment by "thin" is "ratio" or fishing related vs. boating/non-boating issues.

It is not my intention to push this issue and will let responses to fishing related topics be a gauge.

Spanky,

When these "softies" who don't fish in the cold get around to it... They talk about fishing a lot!

So, join us on June 14, April 12...or post a trip of your own... And, please do stick around and get involved with this group..
