Rich,
On another board I participate in, there is a small information message whereby it indicates how many people are logged in/on-line. Whenever we want to do a chat, we have to post a message, inviting people, then wait to see if anyone answers.
Agreeded, during the day, the 'on-line' count may be higher than those actually monitoring the board, but in the evening, it probably reflects who is actually on.
Any thoughts on the possibility of adding something like that?
In that way, it would be much easier to get 'chats' going.
