On the rear left side on my 05 175 the deck squeaks real bad,Is there a fix for this or is this something that is covered by the warranty...Read somewhere a guy dug out from his small drop in box and stuffed rags in there to stop it...Not doing it that way,i want to do it as good as it can be done....The squeak is from where there is a diff in the foam and the deck floor tin...Thanks

My '05 175 has a squeak in the same location. Aft of the drop-in box.

Now that I think about it, I really didn't notice the squeak until the end of this past summer while the boat was parked and I was on the boat cleaning it. Once I get it back on the water I'll have to pay more attention.

I had the exact same problem on mine and it is an easy fix. Pull out the plastic liner that is in the storage compartment and you will need to remove some of the foam that is directly behind where the plastic box was. You only need to remove the foam that is directly under the deck and go down enough to where you can get your hand in there. Once you remove the foam that is up against the deck right behind the storage compartment you will find a piece of channel aluminum that is about 2 inches wide and 12 or so inches long that is riveted to the aluminum decking with if I remember right 3 rivets. You will need to peel up the carpet from the back corner to expose the rivet heads so you can drill them out. This aluminum brace moves up and down with the decking when there is weight on it and the channel pieces that extend down from the deck are rubbing in the grooves created by the foam and this is what is causing the squeaking noise you are hearing. After the rivets are out you can slide that piece of aluminum channel out (which by the way does NOTHING to the sturdiness of the deck) through the hole where you cut out some of the foam behind the storage compartment. Once that piece is out your squeak will be gone forever and you just need to glue the carpet back down and if you want you can spray more foam into the hole where you dug the old stuff out but you won't be removing very much anyway so I really don't feel that it's a must to put more foam in there but some people feel better with it back in there. When cutting the foam I used a drywall *** saw which worked very well and also used a hacksaw blade which I just held with my hand which also worked well. I went round and round with my Tracker dealer about fixing this and they said they had never heard of this problem before but it's funny how many guys just on this board have had the same problem! This might be more involved than you wanted it to be but I just wanted to let you know how I fixed mine and hopefully it will help anyone else with this annoying problem. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Now I'm wondering if there is an identical brace on the other side behind that storage box. Design flaw or workmanship concerning the left side brace?

If there are any '06 owners of this model, have you experienced this problem yet?

That's exactly where they missed a weld underneath on the support brace on mine.

I got anew boat:)
