Anybody know anything about the Ranger Trail EZ-Lube Hub

system, is it different from the one's on my old PT17 and

my 640LX trailer? You just pull the rubber cap on these

Trailstars and there's the jerk. Grease and go.

When I dis-assembled the Ranger Trail (1997 trailer). I

had to take off the tire&rim (nice looking cap held in

place by the rim), then I had to knock off a metal cap

on the hub, and guess what, wherrrees the zerk? The trailer

says it has EZ lubes right on a label, but I didn't see

it. I think the axles must have been replaced, the only

place for a zerk would be on the end of the axle, right?

what do you guys think.

After you get the dust cover off there is a zerk fitting. It is in the center of the axel and requires a needle fitting for your grease gun. Screw the fitting into the gun, press against the zerk fitting and start pumping.

It is more trouble than the PT17, but since you have to take the wheel off, why not paint the hub and clean up the lug bolts while you are at it. When I did mine, I also took the oportunity to rotate the tires.

Is that right? A needle grease fitting, I was looking

for that familiar zerk ball on the end of the axle.

Any ideas where I could get the needle fitting.

Thanks,

Bill W
