I just wanted to be the first one to post about the Rally!!! The rally concluded this afternoon at the Port au Roche ramp with the official weigh-in. Rob will probably post later with the official results. You will notice that I did not finish in the "money" positions.

My hats off to Rob for hosting a great rally and also sharing his secret fishing tips AFTER he secured his position in the standings!! Just kidding Rob. Actually, Rob handed me a rod/reel on Friday with the secret Lake Champlain Smallmouth bait. It took me until today to catch a smallie on the setup as I was targeting largemouths for the first two days. Since Lake Champlain is my home lake (VT side), I plan on spending the rest of the summer giving the smallies heck even if I have to call Rob for the latest fishing tips and seasonal patterns.

Overall, it was a great weekend with a great group of people. I'll see some of you on the water....

Well, Bob beat me to the first post... I had to leave this morning because of an interview that I have tomorrow morning.

First, Rob, you organized one hell of a show. With the exception of our Middle Eastern hotel operator, the event ended up being a good time for all. I would also lik to thank Buzz, Ken, Mac, and everyone that donated time, effort, GIFTS, and PRIZES for the event.

I could say a lot more but I think that once the pictures are posted, they'll be worth MORE than a thousand words...

Hey guys,

I rolled in safely about an hour ago (thank God; we had a near miss on 89S). Some woman in a Ford Expedition cut off pulling out of the breakdown lane. We were going about as fast as I was when I drove Mac's boat (SWEET!!!), and she pulled right out in front of us doing about 10mph. Anyway...

First I would like to appologize for not getting photos posted on a daily basis. I was not able to log-in from the Stonehelm (surprise, surprise). I tried twice a day with no success.

Secondly, WHAT A WEEKEND!!! Sun up to sun down from Thursday night to just a few hours ago, was non stop fun and laughs. What a group of guys!!! Everyone is so cool and there is nothing like putting faces to names. I made some great new friends and look forward to fishing with all of you again sometime.

I'm exhausted, sore, sunburnt and dehydrated but my wallett is a little fatter, so it's all good..LOL

Stay tuned for pics and details,

Marke

Well I must say that the rally was all that I expected, I had the oppertunity to meet some great people that enjoy the chance to fish with others.. I had to miss Saturday because of my son's graduation but got to pre fish Friday and complete on Sunday. I didn't the fish that I was looking for but that really didn't matter as I could have been skunked and still had a great time just getting the oppertunity to meet some fine people.. Thanks again Rob for putting this together with help from Pierre.. and thanks to Mac for the rod art... Here's hoping to be able to fish next year's rally....

Man that was a GREAT time,....10.5hrs each way is a LOOOONG way to pull a boat but in one day's drive, but we deffinetely know where every gas station in Ontario is!! Fishing was decent...but the weather on saturday didn't fully cooperate.....sure was perfect friday though!! Many thanks to Rob, Pierre, for putting in all the hard work to get that organized and to Michelle LaMoy for putting up with us and feeding us thursday night!! Will post more later on,....need to read 2hrs worth of stuff i missed.

Congrat's also to Marke and Rob for winning,......although Rob frontended the hell out of Marke all day,...but we KNEW that was going to happen!!..LOL...........thanks for coming everyone! Next's year's Rally needs to be about 5hrs closer!!!!!!!!1...HA!!

I'll have you know, that Marke from the BACK of the boat caught our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weigh in fish. Until I caught the lunker, he had big bass with a smallie that was only 2 oz shy of my lunker. Marke did incredibly well for his first tournament! And as for the secret bait....well Marke can confirm it was a Nokia! LOL Each time he took out his cell to call his wife or me to call mine for weather reports or to look for parts for one broken Minn Kota, he would hook up on a fish. We each hung up on our wives at least once! LOL We finally just started breaking out the phone and at one point we going to order pizza, but figured we had enough weight! And even though none of the beast smallies and largemouth that inhabit this lake reared their mammoth heads, they DO exist. Keep coming up and you'll see!

Guys,

I had a fantastic time at my first tournament. I knew from this web site I was going to meet a great group of guys and I did. Many thanks to Rob and Pierre for a great rally.

Douglas,

I had a good time fishing with you yesterday. I think we needed a couple of more hours to get some good fish as it seemed that the smallies were just turning on in the afternoon. Give me a call if you want to get together when you are in the area. 802-893-1601

Carl, I hope your father is doing well. I enjoyed meeting you, Bill K., and Eric B. Thanks for letting me go along for ride.
