O.K. everyone I have a question, in an earlier post, I said that I was going to donate two St.Croix Avid pitching rods. I was going to order them today and thought, wait a minute, maybe the members of the rally would rather have rods other then the pitching rods. The rods WILL be St. Croix..the Avid Line.

So here is the deal, I want to order the rods by Monday. The same offer stands, two rods will be donated, with one being donated to the person who drives the furthest, with the second being decided by Rob & Pierre. So my question is what would everyone like to see as the two rods? Go to the links section and click on St.Croix to take a look at the Avid line and help me get what everyone will enjoy... I want to order them on Monday so please help. Can't wait for the rally and have some Nitro fun......

Buzz,

I'm an Avid pitcher myself, no punn! Pitching rods are always a good idea to me.

I have no idea what makes a rod a "pitching" rod, but I got a St. Croix Avid spinning rod(AS60ULF)for Christmas two years ago and I can say that I love it. So much so, that my brother-in-law got the exact same model for himself this year. My wife's spinning rod is a St. Croix Premier (PS56LF), and I have a Premier 6 1/2-foot casting rod.

That said, as a St. Croix fan, you're making me sad that I can't get to the Rally to try and win another Avid rod. To all you who are going to be at the Rally,

YOU LUCKY DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only for you Scott, only for you!!!!!!!LOL... Thanks Scott for being so good natured...

Werll, Mark..... If you'd like..... I'll haul your boat up there so that you can be there by proxy!

The boat belongs to da missuz.

The motor (and this is ESPECIALLY true if I break it) is all mine. You might talk me out of the motor, but the boat is gonna be hard to get.

Hey, Rachael! Wanna go fishin' on Lake Champlain in up-state New York? Bee-you-tee-full countryside! There'll be plenty of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!

(In the voice of Tim-the-Toolman-Taylor)

"OHHHHHhhhhh-NOOOOoooooooo!!!"

You're doomed, Scott. NEVER spell her name with that last "A"! Kinda like putting a "c" in President Bush's last name. Not a good thing to do.

;^)

I'm bowing out now. No sense in hi-jack-nutting THIS thread when Buzz needs opinions on which rods to buy.

The floor is now available to anyone who wishes to speak to the original topic!

Buzz,...ya can't go wrong with a 6 1/2ft med-med/hvy rod!!

Who's going to complain about a free gift anyway,....well..besides Scott,..but we can just beat him into chum with his ugly stick!! That's a very generous offering you're making,...thank you!!

Mac

Buzz,

In my opinion, it's a free rod...so anything is fine. I think a pitching rod would be great. the guys that pitch will use'm and the guys that don't will get a chance to learn...they are ususally more expensive, so some skip on it.

Flippin Sticks sounds good to me, since thats primary meathod of fishing. Anything is better than nothing, except a case of C & L.

I do a lot of pitchin' myself and have used my buddies 6'-6" Avid. It is a sweet rod I think anybody would be happy with.
