Question on storage & safety

Hope I can explain this - I have a 1991 Magna 17 W/walk thru windshield & would like to

make a storage area under the front casting platform if I cut out the aluminum piece at the end

of the walk thru, under the pedastal seat & put a hinged door there. Will this weaken my

platform? The seat is close to this edge. This would give me a lot more storage for my

light but large stuff.

greg,i think if you reinforce the top edge with a piece of angle,aluminum or whatever,it would keep the strength there.



i extended my front out to the back of the console so i have storage for my salmon tackle box.doent yours have the livewell in the front like mine does?that front compartment doesnt hold much,3 or 4 life jackets,a throwable,2 spare props,small anchor,and small tool box.

Maga19 , Duh, don't know why I did not think of extending back to the console, I would

rather add to front & not start cutting sections of aluminum so yesterday I extended the

floor. Today I am going to get some carpet to put on it & it will look like it was done

at the factory :^) Thanks for the suggestion Greg. A
