Hi all - I searched and couldn't find a matching post. I have a 1997 Nitro with a 200 HP Mercury. The engine mounting bolts took a turn each and I realize that they silicone has been disturbed. I need to reseal them and need to know the following:

1) Use 5200 or 4200?

2) Can I simply remove them one at a time, smear the sealant around and seal them w/o removing the motor

3) If yes to #2, what is the torque on these bolts. I can't find a spec anywhere.

4) Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

You will not be able to get a good seal without removing the motor. Life-Caulk, Life-Seal, Marine Silicone {elastromeric}, 3M 5200 Quick-dry are all excellent choices. Finally, 50lbs / ft., 1/2 S/S bolts with Brass nuts. The most important "Seal" is from the outside, between the motor and transom, and around the bolt shank.
