Im only getting between 5200 and 5300 rpm ive got about 4 hours on the motor now just wondered if there is something in the ecm that wont let it rev for so many hours. I am running the tempest 24 that came on the rig its got the 6 inch plate, got it as high can go before it loses pressure (3 1/2 below pad).I'm sure someone else has ran into this too,I'm thinking of trying the 23 tempest. It gets right at 60 gps loaded with 2 200 pound guys.I'm thinking of telling my dealer to swap me for the 23 because its not proped right but I wanted to ask some of you guys first to see what you've experienced.such as loss or gain of speed etc.

i sold tons of this boat proped with a 23 tempest it is also what i run.

Kevin. I have a 2009 Z-7 with a 150 Opti. Because I live at an elevation of 4700 feet above sea level, I have to run a 21 pitch Tempest Plus to get my RPM's to 5400. When I go to lower elevations I run a 23 Tempest Plus to keep the RPM's in that 5300-5450 range. I know the Pro XS runs a little higher RPM than the Opti. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info guys, why does nitro send this boat with a 24p doesnt make sense.

I just bought my Z7 on 6/3/2011 and what I was told by Bass Pro is that the pro xs models have a rev limiter built in for the first 10 hours. The way it was explained to me is that the computer for the motor will not let it rev past 5400 rpm's until the break in time of 10 hours is meet. This is probably what you are experiencing.
