I just bought a 175 a month ago the first time out it was taking on water. I took it to the dealer and he said he had contacted Tracker and they had a bullitin out on this and the fix was to caulk along the gunnel on top wear the sides meet from about 3/4 of the way from front to back. This has fixed the leak but will it hold..My experience with caulking is it lasts a year or tow. I e-mailed Tracker but have never heard from them. Anyone else have this problem.

Lots of people have had this problem. The caulk has held so far...knock on wood

When I got my Pro165 last year, I had taken on water, but it only flooded the back gear storage area. Found out, that I needed to run the bilge more often with a heavy loads. Where does it leak in?

Myself and a couple other members went nuts last year with the leaks and finally figured out the caulking. Finally Tracker got on board and came up with the service bulletin. Actually the dealer is supposed to do it before you take delivery. Anyway, the caulk works great on my PT 175. I haven't had it leak. But I did find another problem with the water getting in after I caulked it. I had to put a plug in the bilge pump "exhaust" on the transom. At high speed the water literally wraps around the side and across the transom to where the opening is for the bilge pump. This forces the water into the opening. After a day fishing I got a load of water in the boat. After plugging the opening it works great. When I am out and need to use the bilge pump I just pull the plug. Don't worry about it being a defect because lots of boats let water in through that opening. You have a great boat so enjoy it.

Guess I was a lucky one. Had my PT175 for a year now and unless I back up quite a bit, I never have a drop of water come out when I take out the drain plug. I have heard of this problem however.

I to have a pt 175 and some water some times.I thought it was from all the fish i was catching

Thanks for all the come-back on my leaking problem, I feel much better about the boat. I am real impressed with the ride and performance of this boat. I have a 75 on it and it is fast compared to my old boat. Thanks again your feed back was much appreciated.
