One more thing before you go...read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter S. Thompson. It'll give you a differant viewpoint on the town.

take good walking shoes, and first thing in the morning head from your hotel towards down town, when you hit the end of the strip (around the Sahara) cross the road and walk back to the OTHER end, and then cross the road once more and make it back to your hotel. Go inside EVERY casino just to look around! Do the same thing at night (don't need to go in) to see all the cool lights and shows outside!!
