The St Johns river had a 20MPH south wind today so it was no fun, came home and cleaned the new boat so I could take a few pics of it. Also uploaded a pic of my biggest bass yet (from last march in my last boat). Its all in the my lib.

I'm still headed to Dallas next Tuesday, and I'm leaning on

going to Ray Roberts rather than Lake Fork. I think its

the amount of timber that gets to me. I banged up a prop

pretty bad last year at Fork - oh and I also broke part of

the gator mount. But I'll still looking for suggestions on which one to go to and what to use, or if anybody has another suggestion beyond these two lakes.

How long will you be down here? Do you have a place to stay at either lake?

Keep in mind that Ray Bob has just as much flooded timber as Fork. While Fork has only a single boat-lane running through it, Ray Bob does have a giant, wide-open midlake section great for running WOT.

Several fronts blew in this week and really have the fish dizzy. Water temps in the mid-70's last weekend are now in the low 60's.

Ray Bob is a very fickle lake when it comes to the weather. Fork seems to hold a little steadier (Bob G and I couldn't prove that last weekend, though!!)

Unfortunately I won't be in Dallas Long, just Tues night (25th) through Sunday. I don't have a place to stay at

either one. Stayed at Lake Fork Marina last spring for 3

days, that was great (except for the bote damage).

I guess Ray Roberts is closer to where I'm staying, and from

what I remember the ramp I used there was well lit. It

seemed to me like you could fish well past dusk and then

put out at dark. I want to say this ramp was near a

Marina also but I can't remember. (I've got it marked

on the map in the Texas boat - I think)

I have the same size boat but with a 75HP. I wanted to go with a 90 but the dealer said too many people have trouble keeping the front end down. Have you experienced this problem?
