Part 1 Speedometer

Have a Pro Deep V 16 SC with a 75 2/stroke had it out today,first time since comming out of storage. Had the boat winterized and stored at BPS in Gurney,Il. The speedometer worked fine last year. Upon getting under way I noticed that it wasn't working. The light on the guage works fine,but no reading. Anyone have any suggestions on what to check for? Or how I can test it? Really don't want to bring it in warranty ran out on May 19. This is a 2001 model. Would think a speedometer would last more than a year!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!! Thanks Bulldawg

Not sure what type you have, my old tracker had a long white plastic device that hung on the transom and could be bent up to get out of the way if you wanted to and if you have that type you may have to just bend it back down or...

Newer motors (my 135 opti) and others (I suppose larger horsepower) have small pin hole on lower unit on front facing side that tends to get plugged with debris, if you have that type, then just use a small wire or drill bit to clear the debris...may solve your problem?
