Mark, Ken... Anybody else with a family member in the service...

Guys, how about an update...

Ken's wife put together a fabulous DVD about their son's tour of duty in Iraq. I had the priviledge of seeing it over the weekend. They have a son to be proud of that's for sure. My heart goes out to all the servicemen and woman over there. It didn't look easy by any means.

Jonathan is plugging away at Ft. Campbell....he'll be home over the 4th of July weekend.

They will redeploy sometime after September for another 6mos-1year.

Thanx for asking, and maybe I'll see you in Wisconsin if I can talk Marke into going!!!

Mike just finished infantry training and is now in Twenty-Nine Palms. His MOS is aviation electronics .He'll be in 29 Palms for 4 month's than to pennsicola for 6 wks or so.He will be spending his time with the air wing.

He is going to try and come home for ten days as his school doesn't start till July 7th.I should find out today.

He loves the Corp. So far he has gained 40 lbs.

Mark

Martin is currently stationed at Pearl Harbor on the sub Bremerton. Tough duty as it is in process of being refueled for the next 3 years. So, he is taking the submarine qualification classes he needs and then will be home on leave for 10 days starting July 3. Once he returns, he will be trying to do a tour on another sub.

Thanks,

Sue

Ken, Mike, Sue...

Thanks for the update... You guys have very good reasons to be very, very proud. And, thanks to them from all of us...

My son Mark spent 8 months in the Persian Gulf on a supply ship. He said they sent bunches of ammo and bombs to the aircraft carriers. He even did the boat driving while off loading to other ships. One of his jobs was Master Helmsman. He came back to Washington state and they sent him to Mississippi to train for a job in aviation. He finished very well and got to pick his duty station. He chose Sicily and thinks that maybe he will be there for 3 years. We are very relieved that he is where he is now but, still worry about him a lot. I have another son that was chosen to be a SeeBee and ended up in Iraq living in a tent and carrying an M-16 everywhere he went. Medical problems got him sent back to the states and eventually out of the Navy. Once, Mark got to visit his SeeBee brother in San Diego just before he left for Iraq. Mark calls me and said "Dad. Robert isn't in the same Navy I'm in." With all his equipment he looked more like a Marine. It makes me very sad to read about the young men and women being killed over there and I feel for the parents that are losing their Sons and Daughters. Personally I can't help but think there is something very wrong about how we are going about fighting this war. I wish I knew the solution.

Hey Once,

Thanks for the info... And, I am sure that you are very proud of both your sons... Thank them from us here at NTOWS...

My son Mike is Marine reserve. He was at drill last weekend and they were told they would be activated and sent overseas in January. He's a tank mechanic but they won't be taking their tanks when they go. Hutch
