OptiMax 150 or 175 what is the difference

Besides price, I compare the 150 to the 175 and the spec's are the same. I would have figured the bore or stroke would be different.



Where does the additional HP come from?

probably through software settings in the ECM..just a guess!

Plus the cut of the ports in the cylinder walls and the tuning of the exhaust. Nothing that really adds any cost to production.....

I checked the Nitroboats.com site, the performance difference in topend is 64mph vs. 67mph (150 to 175 opti's). So I guess the question is gas consumption and theoreticaly burning less gas when running at less then WOT, which you could do at lower RPM's in the larger motor. That said, comming from a guy running a 40 Merc, who am I to provide suggestions LOL



If it was me, if I had lots of extra $$ sure, if not i'd take the $1,000 and put it towards extra OR insurance!!
