It really makes you wonder...

What happened to Temporary Insanity I?

Ouch, hope nobody was hurt but how they couldn't be is beyond me! Like I said before, they'll sell a boat to anyone with money. Brains is not a prerequisite!

Great picture, agree with Rob (OUCH!!!) they should require a boaters driver license before selling anyboat, and require extra criteria depending on the performance of the boat (wouldn't expect the same level of licensing for a 12ft Jon boat as a 30 ft 600hp speedboat)!

What's a boaters "license" going to do??? Driver's licenses don't stop people from drunk driving!!!

That's true Mac, but tell me which would you rather have on the highway - the current licensing or NONE??

I think that more stringent enforcement on the water would help too and tigher penalties for on-water DUI and accidents!

In Ontario we now require boat licences for anything under 4 meters (ie. jet skis) for now ,by 2009 all boat drivers must have a licence to drive any boat.

I took the course on the internet, took me about 45 minutes,

as far as i'm concerned if you have to have a licence you should have to take a full day's course in the class and then a full day's course on the water.

It wouldn't stop stupid accidents like the picture but would at least give first time boaters the basics about water safety before they bring their families out on the water with no idea about water safety.

just a thought!

I agree with the license requirement. Some years ago my son and I took a boaters safety course. I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot about navigation and such. I also learned about basic rules of the road when on the water, who has the right-of-way when approaching another boat and many more neat things. I used to go down to the city ramp at near dusk and watch all the boats come in. It was hilarious watching a lot of guys trying to maneuver their boats, small and large, up to the pull out ramps.

Have a little wind come up and it was even funnier.

Basic boating knowledge is a must. It should be an endorsement on your license just like if you ride a motorcycle in most states.

I'd like to introduce a new boat that has a "crumple zone" built into the nose!! Just think of it this way, if it was a tin boat, he'd have to replace the pole also!!LOL

TOXIC

naw TOX...

A tin boat would have just 'bounced off' that pole (if it had a "pointy nose" that is)...and besides, it wouldn't have had enough speed to do any real damage to the pole!

LOL

sure doesn't look like that glass did much damage to it...

Wonder how fast he (or she) was actually going at impact. It doesn't look like the driver was ejected through the windshield...maybe he/she abandoned ship prior to impact?

Check out where the seats are at in relation to the steering wheel. Somebody probably did get 'damaged' during this fracas.

Ouch.

Ya almost wonder, especialy with the "temporary insanity" name, if this wasen't STAGED!!!

Just sure am glad that someone had the decency to tie it up to that post so it wouldn't float away!

Yowza... Couldn't have hit that any more perfectly, huh?? I sure hope nobody was down in the cabin...

Here's my question... Who tied it to the pole?? I mean, I think it's scotched pretty good, ya know??!?!? LOL!

Nothing a few fiberglass patches won't fix! BWAAAHAHAHA! Keep your eyes peeled for Temporary Insanity III on lakes in your area!

Barb

Patches Smatches!!....With a name like Temporary Insanity II, it's Duct Tape and glue sticks baby!!! No time to wait around for a chemical reaction!! LOL

and now,.."Taking the Pole Position in the innagural Channel Marker 300 boat race,....driving "Temporary Insanity II" completely irresponsibly.....the one and ONLY,...T. Scrotius Balzack!"....

I don't know where you come up with these Mac. Must be the coronas! LOL
