BTW, Thanks Doug for the private E-mail.

Seems it is not all NEW Nitro's. If you have

your Hydraulic steering cables coming from the

same hole in the Transom as your fuel lines etc.

that is the problem, I have mine in a separate

hole to the right. It seems that the lines could

rub on the jackplate and cause damage from being to

tightly fitted.

The dealer went ahead and put a collar around mine

because I insisted with the recall notice even though

it was not warrented. Seem there has been two instances

where this did wear out on hard right turns pulling

excess on the lines wearing them out. More prevenlent

on the 884, 896, and 901.

I did get taken care of at a dealer that did not

sell me the boat. Thanks Gone Fishin Marine in

Dixon CA.

Glad I could assist Mark. I just want everybody to realize that this is NOT a recall, but rather a precautionary measure that Tracker Marine is taking with the hydraulic system. It is recommended that a maintenance check on the hydraulic system is performed 2 times a year and since we know a majority of boat owners with hydraulic steering do not follow this, we are reminding everyone that it should be done and allowing a free inspection of the system.

I'm glad they took care of you Mark!

Good Fishing!
