Well my birthday is next Tuesday, and i'm leaving for Vegas on Sunday morning. My wife's sister and her kids are comming to visit for the long weekend, and Noah has a program at Univ. of Georgia downtown on Sat. AM. My wife and her sister are taking all the kids downtown, and while Noah is in Chess class the girls are taking the other 3 boys to the childrens museum. All sounds great, except the TOW vehicle is going with them!!!!

So, is anyone w/in an hour of Canton GA going fishing on Saturday and would like a partner? Dan? Rich?? FireScooby?? I know Saturday morning on a holiday weekend is NOT the ideal time to fish, but MAN i've not been bass fishing since the DudeRanch 3 weeks ago and have the ICH!!!!

I'll help with gas, and might be able to find a few homebrew's left to help offset the pain!!! For after the fishing trip back at your house of course, for you and you're wife!!!

Worse case i'll grab my fly rod, pick up some waders at WalMart and hit the Hootch for some trout!! At least the river water will be COOL!!!

Trep...sorry, gonna be heading to Hartwell with the extended family.

But, if you want to come get it, you can borrow the Sport Trac. If it's too much of a haul to come across town to get it, I bet you could find a nearby UHaul or Penske place that will rent you a tow capable vehicle for $25.

Trep - Just got in from the monsoon and saw your post. I'd love to take you, but I'm sorry I can't. A buddy and I are building a porch/patio on my hunt cabin Saturday. Between the holiday and the incoming weather, this weekend could get a little rough on the pond. Might be a good weekend to chase those "speckled carp" on the Hooch. (LOL!)

Also, Home Depot has rental trucks you could tow with if you just got to go. Good luck!!!

Dan and Rich - You know I completely forgot about the Holiday weekend and the crowds. Local Cherokee paper is talking about record crowds on the water this weekend. I think i'll take the boat out Fri night fish till dark. Then on Sat, there is a pond in the neighboorhood stocked with bass and bluegill i've not explored. Time for some Fly Fishing practice!!!

You guys enjoy the holiday weekend and be safe. Maybe i'll win BIG in Vegas Sun-Tues and come home with a new boat!!!

Michael -

I don't remember what your second car is, but just about anything can tow a package as light as you boat for short distances at conservative speeds..... Get a tow hitch put on!

me!

Staci - Thought about that, it's a 2002 Saturn SL2, funny its what I towed my boat 4 years ago with till I read the owners MANUAL and FIGURED Out it was only rated to tow 1,000 lbs!!! Yes for a year up/down hills to Lanier and Allatoona it worked great, but it was a Manual. The new one is an auto, and don't want to wear the trany. I just wish mom wouldn't have totaled my wagon which was rated to tow 1,750lbs. Oh well, stalking bass/bream in the pond will work on Sat, and Friday night i'll hit the lake.

But thanks for thinking of an idea - Trep
