For cryin' out loud!!!,...I was approached by 3 different people this weekend at the Detroit BPS Spring Classic,...asking if it was true that I spelled the President's name wrong on the rod handles I did for him!!!...GIVE ME A BREAK!!!,...Do people actually believe EVERYTHING they read on this site?? The first person that asked was a friend of mine,.......and he said,..."Hey,..I heard you spelled his name wrong!! What the @#@??,..are you stupid or something??"......Nice aye?? I didn't even know the other person or his buddy and I had to explain to them that it was merely a rumor, started as a joke!! I showed them the proposal drawings I had in my briefcase and we ended up talking for quite a while,..but what a waste of time having to dispell a rumor like that, making me look like an idiot!!. It amazes me sometimes how people hear or read something on the internet and take it as gospel truth,......then I have to waste time explaining the "truth"....Anyway,...I DID NOT SPELL HIS NAME WRONG!!!...It was spelled correctly and the rods turned out very nice!! I was honored and proud to be offered the opportunity to do that, and I would do it again without hesitation!! I will just be much more careful about who I tell, so rumors like that do NOT get started,.......anyway,...I'm sorry for this post, but I needed to clarify the fact that I know how to spell "George Bush!".............thank you!

Mac

Man, somebody whizzed in your wheaties Mac! LOL You mean I CAN'T believe everything I read and hear on TV, radio, magazines, newspaper, and internet? That is something I have been trying to convince my wife of for years. If she reads in the paper then it MUST be true! After all, media never lies! Never fear big dog, I have faith in you. Now, had you done those handles after several C&L's........well maybe it would be a legitimate question! LOL BTW, for those of us who couldn't make it, if you haven't already sent them on their way, can you post pics so we can see presidential quality rod handles?

This post hits home with my post on the Cat thread. You never know who could be reading this board, i.e. potential customers, sponsors, etc. Not everyone knows the poster may have been making an alleged joke.

Cass :)

I'm sorry, Mac.....

(Even though I'm sittin' here laughing so hard that there are tears in my eyes!)

Everyone -

Mac DID NOT spell "Bush" with a "C". It was just something that we (Mac, Mark and I) had joked about for a couple of moments that kinda stuck in my craw..... Then, when the opportunity came up for a bit of a "story"..... I took it!

And, neither did Mark: 1.) try to sneak C&L's into the show; nor 2.) did he finish off a 6-pack all alone by himself in the lot!

And - just in case there is any question - Mac was NOT able to work by the light shining from my face having had the opportunity to meet Penny Berryman..... I gave off a red glow rather than a white light and it would have made it difficult for him to select the proper coloration of the fish he drew - so I had to stand back!

I hope that puts it all to rest!

me!

And..... For the record..... Please allow me to add that Mac has an incredible talent! I honestly stood there just amazed at the ease with which he created life on those handles! You should see the joy that it brings him to share his creations with others when he hands back a completed project to the rod owner!

Your Good People, Bill McElroy! I admire your talent!

me!

Hey Mac, do you seal them with anything when they're finished?

Yes I do,...I spray them with an exterior, water proof, clearcoat,.....it is as permanent as you can get.

The sample rods i use for display have all been rubbed to death and they still won't smear!! Every now and then I hear comments from the All Star folks that they received a broken rod back at the factory with one of my images on the handle and it still looked great!! Ohwell,...now they'll have to buy a BPS rod to get a new image on it!!..LOL....
