Nitro steering cable

I have a Nitro 700 LX, the steering (Pinion gear type) needs replacing, can't get old one out, Hole too close to motor cable shaft slot,to allow shaft to come all the way out. any hints or suggestions? Thanks!

You need to un-bolt the motor to get the cable out of the tilt tube.
