Nitro Rubrail

Hello again,



I hope that my questions are not repetitive (I apologize if they are) but I want to make sure I understand how to tighten the screws in the rub rail, I have a couple that are bulging out.



From the images in my folder, the "rope" in the rub rail has to be removed to get at the screws. From the first image, the rope is under a plate at the stern...does this have to come off? Also, from image 2 there is silicone which is peeling off...should I do additional maintenance to ensure water does not get behind the rub rail?



I have only owned the boat for a short period of time and I want to commend you on a great site and the wealth of information I have learned by reading within.
