I have an 02 750. So far I am quite pleased with the boat. I bought it new in 03 with the 115 2 stroke. I also upgraded the TM as Brian did. I put a Garmin 240 at the bow and added a two bank charger. If you don't fish great big rough water this boat is the perfect start up tournament boat with these upgrades. I saw a 2004 750 while fishing this past weekend. It was a dual console. It looked real sharp in the water. Good luck
Go for the tempest plus prop in 23 pitch, I had the 23 Trophy on my last boat a nx 700 with a 115 merc and it rocked the 26 it came with was way to much prop. I went to the tempest plus three blade over the four blade on my 882 and now it really rocks!! Remeber the prop is everything in performance!!! Do it before hand and then have it blueprinted, it makes all the difference in the world!!!
I did the same, single console, Upgrade to 115, install 3rd battery for 12/24 v 67lb thrust , 2 bank charger, and went with a Zercom flasher on the front deck, can't wait to try it out.
I was told by allot folks here on the board to go with 24" on that setup. Then checked with the dealer what they and Mercury recommended, and it was the same 24". They stated that they used to go with lower pitch prop but found that 24" worked best on the 750 with a 115.
WOT on my 04 750 I am looking at between 5100 and 5200 rpms and around 57-58 mph ( gps ), seems to be optimum setup for this boat/motor combonation.
That's pretty good Brian...that's movin' and a good RPM. Should last ya' a long time. I kida' be interested what a new 185 will do with a 115...bet that would ROCK!
The folks at Outhouse Marine where I purchased my boat had a book that listed every Tracker/Nitro boat and motor setup and WOT speeds. Helped me make my decision to go for the 115. Maybe your Tracker dealer would have the numbers on a 185 - 115 setup.
TEE - Well atleast their not publishing HIGHER numbers then are atainable, that's just good marketing.
Still, If they made a PT 185 Sport with dual consoles, a short rear deck like my PC 175 and a bench for additional passengers so 5 sit confortably, i'd buyit!!! And run the 115 Merc!
Thanks guys. I got the full flake single console burgundy colored 750.I pick it up next wensday.I went with the 115 mercury. It came with a three year warranty no extra charge.I just sold my 175 pro crappie.Nice boat just no storage space for all my junk and with a 40hp motor it was a slug.
Pretty cool. I'm considering getting a larger motor for my 700LX. It's either gonna be a larger motor or the NX750 and a bigger motor. I just can't decide though. I guess as long as I don't get hosed on my boat being sold I'd be inclined to get the 750. Of course BPS tosses out really low offers because they don't want trades.
