If you remember bassman last week was asking nitro questions, well I guess we answered ok. I went with him to anglersmarine in anaheim Ca. to purchase his new 929. With a 225 opti and $800 cover and elecrtronics it came to $38,700 out the door.. Can't wait to prefish with him for the WON bass series...

Oh no! That's the worst thing you ever could have done! You paid too much, you got the wrong color, etc.

Sorry, boats are second only to cars in people telling you how you paid too much, got the wrong one, and sent the salesman on a 1 year paid trip to Europe all by yourself :(.

Congrats on your new boat. That first scratch will hurt the worst. After that, they're all "added character" :)

$38K for a fishing boat? I coulda made him a dinghy outta plywood for less than $300. :)

Very cool choice Bassman. Enjoy every outing!

Rich has the boat almost completed, too!

All ya gotta do is figure how to get it up his basement steps..... Around the counter in the kitchen..... Over the washer and dryer in the hallway..... And then it's a straight shot out the garage once you bend it around the door from the hallway!

Enjoy, Bassman! Post some pictures!

me!

Scott,

Rich says he has a plan...gonna cut it in half and then re-asssemble it in the garage....

Many years ago there was a guy inupstate New York that built his dream sailboat in his basement. He was heading to Florida at retirement so the boat was his "dream for the future". Apparently the house was slightly expendable... The house was a raised ranch cut into a hill. They dug out one whole end of the foundation...reinforced the house at that end... Then they knocked out the foundation wall and pulled the boat out...(Finished the boat outside, masts, etc.) Fixed up the house put it on the market and were outta there... I watched the process over two years after seeing the hole in the foundation and stopping to inquire why I could see a boat inside!!!! He was proud to explain the whole process and show off his creation. So, Rich I have some photos somewhere of this alternative.

For the record: My project boat can be carried out the side door of the house, where, sometimes, on a sunny day, I can be seen sanding it (for the 3,000th time).

First time he carried it out, it was 8 feet.....

Now it's down to 7'9"!

Easier to carry that way!

Have you got any recent photos so we can see how the project is coming, Rich?
