lol....I am here Mac....
This boat, by far, is the best designed center console bass boat EVER.
Ample room for even the biggest people, the best layout for fishing with its all around fish fighting ability. Name another brand of boat that two anglers can stand on the front deck facing forward with the seat pedestal between them, both have access to the foot controlled trolling motor AND STILL BE A FULL ARMS LENGTH APART? You can do that on a 9 series Nitro, with the most room being the 911.
Sitting on the ends of the rod lockers to lip land a fish is extremely convenient. The storage, I still think, is more than the 929, I think the compartments are a little deeper on the 911 (even the rod lockers). The fact that all the weight is on the centerline of the craft helps its rough water ride tremendously.
It is NOT a speed demon with a 225 on it but it is respectable. I had a couple before they decided to put a vent kit in to aid the hole shot, so I ran a 23" pitch prop (Tempest Plus) and had to play with the jack plate and vent plugs on the prop until a hole shot was OK. I always wanted to run one with a 250 or a 300 to see what she would do....I know Clunn runs one with a 250xb and I have heard that he can get 80+ MPH, I would have to see that to believe it.
It would handle the roughest water with out BANGING the snot out of you and your partner. On a "normal" day of 2 footers on St Clair, you could run 50+ MPH and still drink coffee AND talk to your partner in a normal tone of voice because you are sitting next to each other. The front center livewell was awesome, although I think they made it a cooler now, for a culling livewell, or when crappie fishing. The four accross seating is a family man or guides dream.
I would recommend that you upgrade the trolling motor to one that is a 36v system, and has at least a 50" shaft (and get the bigger mount too). The bow of all 9 series boats are pretty high out of the water.
The only thing that was difficult to get used to was the angled portion of the floor when walking to the front deck and the fact that you feel like you are in a car when driving it. For the first week when I was putting it on the trailer I would take my foot off the HotFoot and try to press the brake as I eased it on the bunks!!!!
I went through a few of these boats (I got a new one every year) and if it werent for the difficulty of resale I would still be running one today. They really havent caught on like I thought they should, partly because people havent been in one to see for themselves.
But alas, along comes another opportunity and I had to jump at it.....I will be running a Skeeter next year as part of my employment with All Star Rods. But if I were to run a Nitro again, it would definately be the 911CDC.
If you have any questions about the boat feel free to email me directly.....
