for those that watched the TOLEDO BEND..wind and wave fest,,,,you might have noticed that Swindell had a little 'kizmo' on his trolling motor..along with Rick Morris....this is TROLL PERFECT....it keeps the motor head from turning in high winds..current...and therefore allows you time OFF THE TROLLING PEDAL...less fatigue,,,etc...

well I am on the TROLL PERFECT STAFF..and I will give the NITRO guys and gals a great offer...retail is 19.95.....just search TROLL PERFECT...and you will get there...this is the HOTTEST thing I have seen in 10 yrs ..for trolling motors...it IS worth your time to visit the sight..............and read the reviews....

Not to be the skeptic... Well, ok, I'll be the skeptic...

What are the long term effects on the internals of your trolling motor, since you are putting something on your motor that the manufacturer did not anticipate? It would seem that is causing more pressure to be applied to your steering cables, bearings, and ultimately, the gears inside your motor head.

All the best,

Glenn

I think it looks like a good idea. Its basically a shock absorber / motion damper. Your tm will always go back to neutral. I just wonder how hard it will be to go full throw on the pedal in either direction.

Ok. wouldn't mind trying one on the Z-8 next week at Kentucky Lake. Bob send me a email about buying one. Thanks

Jeff

It will not harm your motor or your shafts if used properly. I met the guy that "invented" it. I only say it like that because I made one about 12 years ago for a nasty 36v Brute I had. I could not get the thing to stop swinging in the waves or calm water. I used neoprene from an old beer coozie and some stainless clamps. All it does is increase the friction of the lower shaft so it doesnt turn as freely as it normally would. motorguide camoe out with push/pull steering (Tour Editions) which helped tremendously in calm water but not so much in rough water.

I have not found a need for one on a MinnKota and I fish in that crap weekly.

I did compliment him on his design and wished him luck in the future. He is a really nice guy (soft spoken) and I think his product could do really well in the MotorGuide crowd.

The only downside is that you cannot keep an eye on your swivel bearing....sometimes they have a tendancy to get loose (especially in rough water). So if you do get one I recommend taking it off once a month to keep an eye on the swivel bearing.....once those little balls come out, they are hard to get back in!!!! lol

I have thought about buying one of these for my minnkota mainly for the time where im fishing current and i want to leave the tm on constant to hold my position. On my motor if i put the thrust ~20% the motor will start to turn on its own on constant and i want to be able to fish without my foot on it in those conditions.I have tried tightening the cable tension but thats only a short term fix as they do stretch. I have had the same thing with my last 3 minnkota's.

I have made something similar to what Mini did as well with a strip of rubber bunjee cord and some hose clamps to keep my motor straight when i want it locked in. My method was kind of a pain to use but it worked good when i was fishing in a river and needed to keep my motor on 75%+ to not go backwards from the current. I never thought about using a beer koozie.

Bob can i ask what the "great offer" is? So far it looks like the "great offer" is to google it and pay retail...
