New Motor, what should I expect now

I finally got my new 2004 25HP Merc for my PT175. My boat is a 98 so it's a little lighter than the current PT175. Tracker's site says the current PT175 gets 20-23MPH with a 25HP. Anyone out there either have or ridden in a boat similar to mine to tell me if this is correct? I'll just be excited to see my speedometer move. With the 9.9 it never did. By the way, if anyone is looking for a well cared for 1998 2 stroke 9.9 Merc, mine will probably be going on E-bay tomorrow.

Your speedo won't be that accurate. Take or borrow a GPS. Let us know what you find out.

I've got a 1999 PT 175 with a 25 HP and with me and my son I get 25 mph. If a third person is in the boat I get about 23 mph

Bob - Do you have a Foil on yours and if so does it help the boat plane since you don't have power Tilt/Trim (or did you add that)? Just wondering?
