Boy am I pumped up I just got a close look at the new pro 170. I have a 165 and there are many improvments with the new line. It is bigger and wider and the front deck is a lot bigger the side rod locker is gone it is now in the middle of the front deck and it will take a 7 foot with no problems. The hull is now a reaction hull with a beefed up transosm. The look of the boat is a lot larger than it is. I also saw from a distance the new 195 but did not get up close to it. Not going to trade mine but I do have a couple of friends that are thinking of getting a boat in the spring and will have to take them up to see these, who knows maybe I can get a lunch out of it.

I saw the new PT190 at Nashville BPS a couple of weeks ago, and even though I like the layout of it, there was one thing I got to thinking about afterwards. The very front deck, where the TM mounts, looks to be a seperate piece of metal that is tack-welded in intermittent spots, vice being completely welded around the perimeter of the plate. Unless it it is sealed underneath, it looks like water could enter through there pretty easily. imo it should be completely welded.

Plus...I wish Tracker would update their website to show the 2006 models.

Waterwings - The Tracker Web Master is working on it! Last year he did the Tracker site before the Nitro site and this year the Nitro site went up first!! He should have it up in a week or so.

Dave - Did you mean "revolution hull" or did they come out with a new "reaction hull"? Not slamming just wondering, i've not seen the new ones yet.

Hey Trep yep 170 now has the revolution hull two seat lay out like the 165 wider and longer I beleive it is 16.6 and 82 beam. It also has the same rails that the 165 has not like the 175 that has those extra wide ones.

Hey dave I got an 05 165 and Love it, but the three things I don't like about my 165 is no 7 foot rods and no lockable storage; its a huge pain the butt to fill up I most be doing something wrong at the pump but 25hp 4 stroke does not burn alot of gas threw a season maybe four full tanks( yes that is going fishing every weekend). But I think I lucked out big time because the 170 will not fit in my garage.

Hey xmytruck It is a pain to fill up mine at the pump but I have found a couple of gas stations that the pump works real slow or will allow just a trickle to come out and it fills better that way. Mine a a 2 stroke 25 and I go through 20+ tanks of gas a year (fish all year long) I also have found that if I put gas in it before it is wmpty ( about half full) it fills better. Mine has a lockable storage I put a lock on the dry storage like the rod locker I think that it cost $8. Yes not having a 7 foot rod holder is a small problem I also put all my rods in bps rod socks sure helps not to have everything tangled up.

Concur on that Dave. We just bought and used the rod socks last time out, and it does save some frustration getting the rods out of the cramped rod locked on the 175. I leave the socks on and stow the rods in the wall rack in my garage. I figure it'll help keep the dust off of them, except for the reels.

Trep, thanks for the heads-up on the Tracker website. :)

hey dave

yea mine has the lockable rod locke, I love to see the pictures of the lock dry storage and how you did that. I was planning next year to do something along those lines.

Thanks
