Depends on the brand - most need to allow an extra foot in length per accessory (console, trolling motor, etc.). They should say. If not, the store should be able to tell you.
Rich not sure what boat you have, but Cabelas has their ratchet lock covers for around $120, I bought one for my Z-7, just have not had time to try it.
