I pick up my new boat in 18 days. Boy is it gonna make me eat my finger tips off wait'n 'til spring to take her out. I thought about taking her down to Lake Shelbyville in February but they got dat dang ole hard water down there right now.

My last boat was an aluminum 15 footer w/ a 40 Merc. This one is one a dem fancy lookin' sparkly boats wit da go fast motor on it. Oh well, there's always the Calumet river 'til April.

Jim,

Where are you from? Sounds like you are very close to me (Thornton) If so, i'll probably see you on the river LOL

Oak Forest.I moved here last December from Alsip/Literally a stones throw from the Alsip boat launch.

Powertown opens mid Febuary, no hp limit, it's a cooling lake that doesn't freeze as long as the plant is running. It's in Pekin. Word has it that there are a lot of real good smallmouth there. I have had no luck with them but others have. Might be worth a try.

May try Powerton this summer, no hp limit?

Powerton's a cooling lake, isn't it?

I've fished Lasalle,Braidwood, and Monster lake, (Mazonia), but haven't made it to Powerton, maybe this year.... oh, congrats on the boat, Jim! egMike
