Hello I just checked my trailer manufacturer's plate and it has a date of August 2004. The dealer claims it is a 2005 trailer...but I am confused with the August 2004 date on the trailer? Is he trying to pull a fast one on me or is this possible?? The only rationale I can think of is that when you buy a car sometimes you are getting a 2005 model car in year 2004...but does the same apply to boat trailers?

Thanks

Hello it's not a galvalshield trailer thats what I should have gotton, but it's a regular trailstar galvalized silver trailer.

thanks x

If It says 2004 It's a 2004(In my opinion).....Thats how I check the boats..Plate has the date....Call the factory..JR

Pat is correct.

The serial number on the BOAT shows the year of manufacture, the MANUFACTURE date on the trailer shows the when it was built.

I hope you are right I got a new boat and when I picked it up it was not a happy day, wrong trailer no keys to the rod locker. I was very PO

Thanks

Pat has it right. You have an '05 model that was manufactured in August of 2004. Every manufacturer does this. Like Pat said, if yougo to a car dealer this fall to look at 2006 model cars, when do you think it was built? Now get out and enjoy your new boat!!!

I just called tracker marine corporate office and they did confirm that it is a 2005 trailer.. :)

That makes me feel better that the dealer did not pull a fast one on me, but it still bugs me that I did not get what I asked for, but thats life... Will post pics real soon thanks again this board and people on the board rule :)
