I have an 84 Tracker 17TX that I am going to transform into a Duck/Fish boat. Does anyone have any experience in changing the back deck around? I would like to move the live well to the middle of the back deck allowing a third seat in the middle. I also need a console windshield.

Thanks for your comments

You're going to have to install a completely new deck (wood, carpet, storage, livewell), without cutting any support frames underneath. I've only installed one new boat deck in my life, and it wasn't easy, but it can be done. Taking very accurate measurements will be the key.

Use big pieces of cardboard to make templates, and then transfer the template to your wood. Jocky the storage bins and livewell where ever you can fit them around the support frames. If you absolutely have to cut a frame to get something to fit, you'll need to replace that frame with a couple of braces on either side of the box. Aluminum "angle iron" is great stuff.

Good luck with the project!
