need fish finder help !!

i have just installed a new matrix 17 on my boat in the front. the trans. is on the trolly. no matter where i am on the lake it says 16 feet deep. we were looking at the bottom once today and it still said 16 feet. i have another fish finder on the back and it works right. what could be causing this problem.....anyone with knowledge id appreciate it.....thnx....paul.

This may sound dumb, but it happened to me and it was similar to what you're describing.



Double check to see if you're not running in Simulator mode.

But even on simulator mode it would show differant depths...just not the correct ones. I got mine on simulator one time on a new lake and I was thinking WOW! Look at all that structure and fish and then reality set in.



I'm clueless to why it would be doing that. I would contact H-bird customer service.
