I have a 2006 Nitro 929 with a large round MPH gauge. Inside the face of the round gauge is a small digital window/screen. Neither the digital window nor the manual needle for the MPH works?

Not sure if they are related but the RPM gauge is on the opposite side of the steering wheel, looks exactly the same (as the MPH) except the RPM needle works fine but the same smaller digital window/screen also fails to work..... like the MPH digital window/screen.

I briefly looked at the fuse block and check the basic fuses and everything looked good.

When I start the engine I do see a back light (blueish color) light up on both digital window/screens...but just quickly flashes and then goes off.

any ideas?

thx

If they look like these gauges, they are smart craft.

they should plug into a junction box somewhere under your dash??

thanks guys. The gauges look similar to the ones pictured though with smaller digital windows. The Motor is Verado 250.

I would send you a pic though the boat is at the fiberglass shop for the moment. A stump found me.

I am open to any suggestions.

Your Verado should have an interface cable coming from the main harness that your guage leads plug into, very similarly to the leads on the Opti's. Good luck! ;)

Plug them together. Your gage leads should have fabricated ends that marry to the harness connectors. Your speedo will need a hose attached from the engine pitot for the mechanical (needle arm) feature to work. Your digital features should plug together like SmartCraft gages.

ok thanks. I was thinking you might say that. I will check all the connections and make sure they are cleaned and fully connected. This boat was a repo before I bought it and think it may have sat out in the weather for a few months before I picked it up. I am wondering if the elements may have corroded something in the gauges? I hope so since I have a chance of fixing that.

But if I end up having to replace the gauges then does anyone know where I can can replacement gauges at a great price?

thanks

E
