I have finally located a spot for this big fish finder for my 2000 Nitro 205 sport SSF and it will be mounted between dash and throttle. The base of the mount is about 2.5-3 inches. My question is with this fish finder and the bracket I purchased, what is the best way to mount this. I do not want to have to worry about the weight of this cracking the fiberglass when hitting a wave hard or something. My thoughts were to drill 4 holes through fiberglass, epoxy some green treated wood or thick plastic board about 8X8 inches behind the drilled holes then mount this with a rubber gasket of sorts to prevent moisture from leaking into the drilled holes. I was unable to find anything for a reference on this board, the internet and on Bass Boat Central. Some good advice would be very much appreciated.
