hey guys i just got my merc extended warranty offer and need some advice on what to do.i got a 2004 merc 150xr6 with a lil over a year left on factory warranty.i use to turn wrenches for 2 years on these things and found out from merc today that they are no longer makeing the carb motors.should i get the extended warranty? 1 year $871.50,2 year $1396.50, 3 year $1921.50, 4 year $2446.50. ive got a month to decide.any input would be helpful.warranty covers manufacturer defects after mechanical failure.thanks.

I've had my 150hp XR6 for 5 years without a hiccup. Original plugs too.

No way...i have never had an extended warrenty and have owned about 7 since 1973.

Never replaced more than a water pump. Just mt $.02 worth

I have a 25 that I got last year and I did not get the extended warrenty I had a 40 hp Mariner that was 20 years old and the only problem was that the refacor went bad the motor outlasted the boat and it is still on the water pushing around a pontoon boat.
