merc beep

I have a 06 200 optimax and lateley at idle speed it will beep once and that is all. I have cheked the oil resevoir and on engine and all is fine. The dealer I go to says they cant find anything. Does it sound like a short in the ignition were the tones come from. Does not happen all the time.

My motor did this awhile back (2002 150XR6) and it turned out to be corrosion on the battery connections. The voltage or amps (I'm not an electrician) would drop just enough to trigger the beeper, just like when I turn the key on to start it.



Maybe check all your electrical connections, including your battery terminals, and see if you can find it somewhere in there?
