I had one and the reel seat broke. It was "OK" for the money but spend a few extra and get a Pro Qualifer. The difference is night and day.

just wondered if anyone had "reel" evidence!

Andy,

I just got the MegaTourney Rod&Reel Combo for a backup, it's the next grade up I beleive, for the money it seems like a very smooth reel. But I have not used it yet.

I bought the BPS Challenger spinning reel & rod combo at the Nashville event and got to test it out yesterday from the bank of a local lake. Not the most expensive combo mind you, but I like it fairly well so far. Of course, I didn't catch anything to really "test" it, lol, but it casts real nice and is smooth on the retrieve.

I bought one a couple years back, it is a good reel "for the money". I would say it is better than most similarly priced reels.

I've got a 4 or 5 in the dock box that's been handled by several dozen guests over the past 3 or 4 years. They've caught crappie, bass, catfish, carp, stripers...just about everything swimming off the dock. The most I've done is put fresh line on them every now and then. I'd call them durable. You can definitely do a lot worse for more money. IMHO

FWIW - They are being sold out due to a model change, not for any problematic issues. We blew out a bunch at $9.88 during our Spring Classic.
