Hi, i just received a Minn Kota MAxxum 52" for my Nitro 640lx. Was looking at mounting it last night. All the holes from the motorguide line up which is not a problem. However this things mount is huge and would hang over the bow a fair was and also hang over some of my carpeted area. I think th 52" sfaft version is just to big for a little 640 ? Is the 42" shaft version got a smaller mount footprint????

Yep the 42" mount is a little shorter. If you want i can measure one for you.

Jim, that would be great if you could. Only issue is i have been onformed that minn kota to not sell the 42" version in australia. I might have to try get one freighted over.

The one i have is 23 1/2" from the tip of the curved front peice to the rear of the mount plate.
