Here's my situation. I was going to get a handheld GPS. then got to thinking. I have a 240 x 240 eagle sonar on my bow and a Zercom flasher on console. So now I'm considering getting an eagle 320 Fishelite or LMS-320 to replace the Flasher unit. This new unit has built in GPS. My question is, outside of general GPS functions which I can surely use, what good is the mapping features if your lakes are not listed on the software's website? Also, which software is the best? Since none of my lakes are on these software packages, should I just get a simple GPS and forget about mapping software? Will I be able to scan my lake maps into the software?

This stuff can be confusing. Thanks for the help.

Check out Navionics fishing hotspots maps, they're multimedia cards that plug into the 320, and have detailed fishing maps on your GPS screen, contour lines and everything.

Bit pricey, but when you add up the number of maps per card, its a good deal...
