Seems my '02 Silverado 1500 reg cab/sport box/4800 baby 8 just won't get it done.... It tows the new 911 great but can't get it out of the water except on a dry ramp (fat chance!!).. I have to put about 800 pounds in the back to hold traction on wet ramps.... Soooooo... Tomorrow I pick up my new pick up... Silverado 1500 ext cab, 4wd, Z71, 5300, 373 gears. I drove an extended Trailblazer that was really nice, but I guess I'm just a pickup truck guy at heart. Sides, bigger tow rating with the truck... It's sure a good thing I married the lady I did. All she did was smile and say "my turn next".... Boy, bet that's going to cost me... (Maybe I can talk her into the Trailblazer!!!)

Owning the 911 and a silverado i can tell you it aint the truck. U need new tires. I had a silverado 1500 with the 4800 v-8. New tires solved that problem. But the 3.42 with 4800 was not enough 'getty up' for me. Got the 2500 6000 v-8 w 4.10 rear and i need new tires again b/c of the ramp fun.

Boys Boys....with their big toys.

I pull my TIN boat out with a 4-banger Subaru on a clay/mud ramp at Bugg's Island....with stock tires and everything. :)

Or course, the 911 rig weighs about 2 1/2 times my rig and cost about 3 times mine..... details details.

Hey, whatever pulls your boat.

Hope everyone has/had a great weekend. I was stuck on honeydo list items and didn't make it down to the lakehouse.

Tires were almost new, Bryan. 14,000 miles. I think part of the problem was they were really wide tires so not as much ground pressure. The other part is just the ramp. The brain surgeon that poured the concrete must have thought he was building a sliding board or something. The concrete is really smooth and there is always somekind of slime or something on it -- algae I guess -- when it's wet everyone fights it. I even had trouble a couple of times with the tin boat. BUT, all that is behind me now. The new truck is nice and will handle the boat better anyway. 'Sides, ya gotta admit gettin' a new truck this way was a really slick move (no pun intended).....

Is it a HEMI??

LOL

Sorry, I just had to do that, I just saw that commercial.

There's one lake I don't go to very often that has a ramp like that. I have to put it in 4wd even with my tin.
