Brian, What is the new boat your getting? Is it a Nitro or another brand? BTW, Good luck selling the boat, it looks sharp.

Brian - If it was a DC and 2 years from now, it would be MINE!! Especialy since it has the Galvanized trailer which I want for the ocational bay trip. Good luck, I still have my 2000 under warranty, can't get a new one till my 40th B-day!!

Brian - you have no idea how tempting that is. Ii looked for a few months before recently buying the used 98 that I now have. Had your offer existed about 6 weeks ago, I think we'd have to talk.

Good luck. You'll find someone out there that is currently looking. Have you advertised on Boattraderoline?

Brian, I saw a post on BFHP, are you lookin to get a Triton 186 or 196? I thought you had a 186 already. Anyway I love mine but really like my buddies 196. He got it with the merc 200 3.0L and it will GPS with both of us in the boat, 1/2 tank of gas and a tournament load right around 74MPH. He hit 77.6 this weekend by himself. It fishes like a bigger boat and will outrun most boats for it's size and horespower. I thnk he paid 28K for his and will be selling it to me in 2 years. Go for the 196!!!!

Al,

I had a 2000 TX 186 that I sold in 2003 it had a VMAX 150, loved the boat, but had a fellow from Orlando who twisted my arm to sell it to him, so I obliged.

I think I am going to get a 2005 TR186 LE with a 2005 175 OPTI. Got a great deal from a dealer in GA about 2 hours from house , $24,300 out the door.

I think the Nitro will be availble at this price for about 5 days or so, as I am gonna head over to dealer either this weekend or the next and trade her in, unless someone is interested, it would be a shame to trade her in, cause you know dealer is gonna put it on thier lot for 13-14K.

Al,

Great looking 196, I think I am gonna go with red this time around, I showed my wife the different colors availible, and she likes the red the best..

Question, does your buddies boat have silver or gunmetal carpet.. Looking at the Triton Site it appears the silver carpet is realy light in color.

Brian, My buddy's seat and carpet colors are the same as mine. I think the seats are Whelk and the carpet is gunmetal

Nice looking ride you have there..

The 2005 196 with 200 OPTI with the LE package I can get for 27,257. So now I am thinking maybe just go with the bigger boat.. Its only a few thousand more and allot more boat and motor.

Brian, Go with the bigger one now. I've had this boat for 5 months and really want to step up to at least a 196 or TR-20 or even TR-21. Check out the Triton page on the BBC website, you can get a lot info. there as well.

Think that is what we are leaning toward. I had a 2000 TX186 which is the same boat as yours but without carpet. It was a great boat, but the front deck could have been a little bigger and as for taking waves on the St. Johns River,, well lets say we got wet allot..

Brian, nice looking boat! I was days away from getting a Nitro (NX882) after months of research. I fell in love with Al's Triton but never thought I could afford one. I decided what the heck and went down to the local Triton dealer. I was able to get a TR-186 w/ merc 150 for the same price as the 882, for under 21k. The boat will be white and burgundy with gunmetal carpet. What I've been reading, Nitro's are fine boats but for the same price I feel Triton was a better deal.

One of my fishing partners also bought a Toon, TR-196. I wasn't convinced that the extra foot was worth another 5K (3k boat/2k motor upgrade). They both should be here around Christmas.

Al,

This not the exact boat, but the colors , LE package and 200 OPTI are the same. ( I am going to get single axel trailer )

Brian,

Why only a single axle trailer? I had something happen to me recently at a tourney, which convinced me that my next rig will definitely have tandem wheels.

I lost a 'wheel' on the way to a tourney. Couldn't launch my boat, and had to change out and go as a non-boater (luckly on that part).

Any new boat that I might consider, will need to be on a tandem wheel trailer.

Tex

Been told by friends its allot easier to move it around, if needed..

Brian, That color combination is the colors I like as well in a boat. If I ever get to order mine it will definitely have red and black in it. I also like gunmetal color too. Sweet looking rig!

Hey Al,

let me know when you're ready for a new boat.My truck will be paid off in two years and I may just have a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket.LOL

What??? Steve?? You are CONSIDERING a Glass boat let alone a TRITON!!!! AARRRGGGHHHH

What is the world comming to!!!! LOL

Steve, I will probably sell it in 2 years so let's talk. I'm adding the center seat in the next two weeks. The boat will also come with a ski bar and tube. BTW, the boat has the LE pacckage (Rod Tubes, Courtsey lights in rod boxes, rear compartment etc., Hydraullic steering and 6" jackplate) I also have a spare SS Lightning prop. Let's make a deal in 2 years Steve.

Let me know. It's just the size and HP I want.Should work out to about two years till I'll be in the market for a boat.

I will definatly be in touch.

Trep,

I love the old girl. She's been nothing but reliable(for a 13 yr old boat),starts right up and always gets me home.BUT for a good deal,I'll sell out in a heartbeat.LOL

And that is one sharp boat that Al has!!

Next thing you know you'll start drinking out of glass bottles!!!! LOL

Brian,

I have a friend (Greg) interested in your boat, he will be calling or e-mailing you tonight. We are up here in Maine, but he has a friend down in Jax who could come by and look at it.

Eric H.

Eric,

Sounds good. I am up late so he can call up to about 11 PM.

904-891-3219 ( cell )

[email protected] is my email that I can be reached at. Gotta do a deal pretty quick as Mercury and Triton are raising prices on the 15th. So I will need either to trade her in or sell private not to get hit with the increase.

Brian, Check out your post on the BFHP. Triton Rodney posted about a NC customer, that customer is my tournament partner Pat Williams who has the 196. Those GPS speeds are real. I know because I was with him when he took them. My buddy has the 3.0L and it sounds really mean at idle not like the 200hp 2.5L. Good luck with the OPTI, I'm sure you will love it!

Brian, Greg can't buy the boat, sorry. Enjoy your new Triton.

Eric H.

Brian - Did you sell it to someone here? Did you get the price you wanted? Did you buy the Triton??

Come on Man, Details!!!
