Hey guys,

It's finally boat time....

I broke the fill/recirc/empty cable on the livewell valve, but I can't see the valve itself as it is located under the livewell. I'm sure I could re-adjust the cable to give me enough loose to re-install it correctly, but I'm not sure how to get to it...any ideas ?

Thanks,

Pierre

wondered that myself Pierre...never had to fix mine yet but, we'll let someone chime with the answer. Would be nice to know..

Pierre -

My Nitro2000 was set up a bit different from your 882..... But I recently had to reattach the cable for the livewell drain control valve. I disconnected the hose from the fitting that goes thru the hull and found that they had left enough hose from the livewell to the valve that I could easily pull it rearward enough to reattach the cable.

me!

Ice must be out up North...Pierre's posting again!! Ok, take a 4 inch hole saw and cut a hole through your livewell and hull. Go down to the hardware store and get a toilet flapper assembly and glue it on. Need to empty the livewell? Just pull the handle and "flush" runnin down the lake.....how am I doing?

Pierre,

on my 882 the valve is located in the bilge. In the back of the boat there should be a plate that covers the bilge area, on mine the oil tank is on top. if you take that plate up and look underneath you will find the valve and the recirc pump attached to a bracket. Hopefully the cable just jumped off because you really cant adjust the cable, the cable has a ridge that holds it into the valve in the proper place and if that ridge isnt seated the cable will move. if the cable is busted you can get a new one cheap enough from Flow-rite. i hope this helps, any more questions let me know. While your in there you should upgrade to a 750gph pump to fill/recirc better.

Not sure how to get at the thing, but as I sit here typing this, I'm looking at my arm which is torn to shreds. It looks like I tried to give a couple of cats a bath. My livewell pump was plugged up, so last night at about 9 pm I figure I'll fix it up real quick. So I open up that little round porthole in the splashwell of my TV18 and peer down inside, waaaaay down close to the bottom is the pump, just above the bilge pump. I can touch it with my fingers, but as far as servicing it..?? No way. I had to remove the center portion of my rear deck just to get at it, barely. I was finally able to perform a 2 handed job with 1 hand, finished close to midnight. My back was aching, arm torn up and bruised. Whoever was resposible for that design, needs thier head examined....!!! Glad I did it though, just got back from St. Clair with 3 nice Walleye for the freezer..

Jim mine is the same way as yours. My recirc. pump doesn't appear to work, but the fill pump works ok. I guess I won't be able to bring any fish home and keep them live in the boat? I was going to replace the motor, but wasn't sure it would be worth it because I don't know how much I would use the recirc. pump. Did you replace your recirc. pump with the bigger one?

Bryan,

i sure did I replaced both the fill and recirc with bigger. If you plan on fishing any tournaments get it fixed. you will need a recirc ro keep the fish alive. also that same pump will fill the well if you change the selector by the throttle to fill. with the two 750gph pumps mine fills in less then 4 min from dead empty.

Arm Saving Hint:

When reaching through holes in tin/figerglass, first cover the edges with masking tape to prevent cutting yourself to shreds.
