I have a 1987 Tracker 1800FS and am curious about how the livewell system works. I have two push/pull knobs. Push to fill, pull to empty. To fill I push the knob in and turn on the aereator system. This pumps water into the livewell. Looking at the livewell, towards the top there is a hole, I assume this is the overflow. As the aereator pumps water I assumed that the water level would rise until it hits the overflow. But this is not the case. The livewells fill to approx 1/2 and then to not get any fuller. Are the aereator pumps just recirculation pumps? If the knob is set on push to fill and the aereator switch is set to auto timer it will recirculate the water. But why do the aereator switches say, fill/off/auto-timer?
